Puddle Duck
Day Care
est. 1989
Puddle Duck Day School is licensed for 49 children, infants through kindergarten, with a designated classroom for each age group. We provide lunch and two snacks, the daily/weekly rate is for a 10 hour day, and we are closed for 13 holidays a year.
For over 30 years, Puddle Duck Day School has offered high quality childcare by providing appropriate Early Childhood developmental experiences that challenge cognitive growth and enhance the development of each child. We pride ourselves on being the "best of both worlds" when it comes to early childhood care and learning. Our size allows for us to have a family oriented atmosphere, where our caring staff is able to get to know and understand each individual in order to assist them in their personal growth, while our theme based curriculum incorporates the Ma. preschool and kindergarten guidelines so that the children will be prepared to enter the public school. Beginning in the baby room the children learn through a variety of experiences, about positive self image, self-help and critical thinking skills.
Each day the children participate in group time, art and cooking activities, music and movement, small and large motor, math and science as well as language arts and stories. The curriculums are theme based and planned using the developmental stage of the age group as well as the children's personalities in the classroom. The administration and teachers, infants thru kindergarten, work together to come up with curriculum plans that are fresh, engaging, fun, and stimulating for the children. Puddle Duck believes a well planned curriculum is essential to the happiness and harmony of our school.
A another big focus here at Puddle Duck is our usage of sign language. Sign language is a big part of each child's day. In our younger classrooms it is used to help with frustration for those children not yet verbal, and for our older rooms it is used as a behavior managment tool. The staff participates in workshops each year to improve and better their knowledge and use of sign language.
About Us
Events:
Music with Ms. Dara
We love when Ms. Dara comes to sing and dance with us. The transitional, pre-k, and kindergarten classrooms will enjoy Ms. Dara for the first half of the session. They love ending their time shared with Ms. Dara by having a "parade" around the building. The infants and toddlers share the second half of the music session. There's no keeping them still once that music starts!
